I'm as liberal and left leaning as they come but it's gotten a bit ridiculous. It's hard to blame GOP when you see Adams putting together new contracts with hotels for more places for immigrants to stay and offering them prepaid credit cards. It's ridiculous because we have floated the idea of UBI around and it gets shot down but suddenly we can use our budget to essentially offer a form of UBI to immigrants? At what point are we going to continue to offer people things? I'm not against offering immigrants resources, but when it's grinding up against resources that could be used to take care of the homeless problem that has been an issue way before the immigrant problem. Or could be used to better our public transportation infrastructure. Or be used for better health care, roads, education, etc. The influx of people makes the city harder to be in. Trains and buses are way more crowded than ever. Housing prices are increasing.

We did. Eric Adams stopped the buses. Still doesn't mean NYC Taxpayers can't file a Class Action Civil Suit against Gov Abbott for damages.
