Colombia - Medellin or Cartagena

I am actually in Cartegena right now. (My first trip). They are trying to clean up the old town area (by the clock tower). The popular clubs to get girls (delirium and dolce vita) has been closed down.

They have police standing on the streets. You still see a lot of street walkers walking around but if you try to talk to them and the police see you. They will come and break you up. I don’t think they will arrest you, they will just tell the girls to move along. You can still get them by signaling them to follow you and find a street with no police officer to start the conversation.

The place is nice. The girls are pretty nice. The regular staff is aggressive on asking for tips which is kind of annoying. Also they have so much security it’s like you are walking into a drug dealers mansion or something.
Street walkers on average is asking for $100 for an hour. The marine club is $115 for 30 min (they supply you the rooms, condoms towels and soap) Or you can take the girl home for $255. They will stay with you for 6 hours.
Just some FYI for people planning to come within the next few months.

so $100 for an hour or $250 for 6 hours? The economics dont make any sense.

Have been to Medellin many times, including last year. Never to Cartagena, I was interested in it a few years ago but every time I got more info it just seemed inferior to Medellin so I never pulled the trigger.

Tons of good restaurants and night life in Medellin. Some of the clubs around Parque Lleras (not Gustos though) have cute chicas providing social time on site if you buy them a drink at around 50K. You can hang out and chat and dirty dance with them, and some will give you their number. I never pulled one from here, but sense it could be an untapped gold mine. Also many options for good semi-professional massage with options with good looking chicas. Loutron up the hill is high end and worth a visit daytime, full menu. I never bothered with the lower end scene. La Isla, Fase II and Luna Lunera are good night club spots filled with chicas. La Isla is the biggest with 50-80 girls on a good night. As an example, a night at La Isla would run about 800K to 900K COP total ($210-230 USD) for entry, drinks for you and a chica, tips to the dancers as they walk around after stage, and about 45 minutes in one of the adjacent on-site rooms. I noticed a bit of a trend for some chicas not providing bbbj, so def have to negotiate that detail up front.

Like most places you have to do the work to sift through the venues and options and find the gems that check your boxes. Over a few trips I developed a short list of favorites with phenomenal mileage who I had over to my AirBNB for an hour, a few hours with a movie, maybe dinner too, or overnight. One is a solid 9 Instagram girl. Had many phenomenal times. Definitely do your research and navigate prudently to ensure you stay safe.

Avoid Cartagena for now, all the clubs (The Big 3, Dolce, Delirium, Space) have been moved out of "The Walled City" and you have to take taxis or get on a club bus to get to them. Also these new clubs are in dangerous parts of the town. Before, inside of "The Walled City", all you had to do is WALK to the big 3 clubs and WALK back to your Air BnB, pretty much do that over and over again all night. They put a stop to all of that.
