I'm fortunate in that this doesn't affect my work commute or other parts of my real life. However, it's most definitely gonna affect my mongering as I travel north on 95 to Anna's, Sophia's, and a couple places on Bustleton and Red Lion. Would appreciate some travel tips from those of you that make similar journeys and are more city savvy than me.

Take it as a sign from God that now isn't the time to head to the NE for fun. Not sure how far south you're starting from, but save some gas and time stuck in gridlock and go to Chinatown. You can thank me later. I live in NE and am pissed about how hard it is getting into the city. And I consider this REAL life, so real it can make the rest of the time feel like I'm stuck on a hampster wheel.
