There is a few that will remain open because, the town will give out a permit if everything is up to code. The issue is mostly that before hand most places in passaic didn't have a permit from the town, and now they have to submit for a permit and wait 3 months for approval and they cant open the business while waiting. So they lose revenue and have to pay rent, they use this tactic to drive away all of the places in town operating illegally without licenses or permits and without inspections. But some places do have the licenses and permits. But they probably failed a recent inspection and were told to fix those issues to get their town permit back.
