Protocol/dmg with independent providers

Just booked my first session with independent ... Stated rate is $140/hr. Just looking for advice on how to handle myself, what to look out for, and whether dmg will be different from upfront price.

140 seems low. Not knowing who it is, I’m betting she will ask for more cash once you get there.

At that hourly rate, I would suggest you be extra cautious. Check for reviews on her, and watch your back. She is most likely high-volume or messed up on drugs, which means she probably has a handler. Or even worse, is being used as a decoy to rob you when your pants are down (literally)

I hope I'm wrong, but the Indy's I've been with have all been properly vetted or belong to an Agency.

It didn't happen. She asked me to confirm by text 30 mins ahead of our appointment time, so I did that, and then drove to address (fairly public location in office building). She never responded to the confirmation text, nor any or the next several saying I was there and asking which suite I should come to. It wasn't mentioned in the ad, and there were several businesses with "wellness", "therapy" and "touch" listed in the registry on the wall.

Anyway, I waited for about 25 minutes, feeling more and more awkward all the time, and then I bailed. I had a tight window of opportunity between work and life responsibilities that take priority, and I wasn't gonna push those boundaries for the sake of a provider who couldn't even keep a simple appointment or answer a text that she requested.

Anyway, about and hour later I got a text from her saying she was away from her phone and missed my texts. She apologized (sort of) and asked me to return her call. I haven't responded yet, and I may not. My gut is telling me to delete all texts and block her number. I can't afford to spend my time and $$ on someone so flaky. I haven't been able to find a review for her on here either, which I suppose is a red flag.
