Most members here will help out members who write reviews. By writing reviews it builds trust and credibility and therefore people won't think someone is LE or a freeloader. WIthout any reviews that person has no credibility and has not contributed to the monger hive mind. Even if they were to send a PM to some people, some may ignore it seeing that they have not made a single contribution other than asking questions. This place only works if everyone contributes.

I still think OP shouldn't get much help here because he might be a freeloader or LE, but I agree that the search feature is really bad and needs a lot of work.
Still, if he wants recommendations the best way is to read reviews for his area, and if he doesn't have access to private details then that's that. There's a reason for private access. Not trying to be a dick just saying...
