It was a more than a decade ago, at least, so I can't remember where this was or who it was, but one time I had an hour massage that lasted 35 minutes.
When the girl went to the flip, she was one who negotiated up front. Let's say we agreed on a tip of $30.
When she told me we were finished, I got dressed. When I was almost ready to go, I casually asked her how much the house fee was for a half hour. Let's say I paid $35 for the hour and the half hour was $30. I'm making all these numbers up because as I say, it was so long ago, but this is certainly in the ballpark.
So I said, OK, I'm giving you $25 because I'm only paying for a half hour. The look on her face was priceless! She knew I was 100 percent right and had to accept it. She displayed the knowing disappointment of getting caught and the agony of defeat! I'll never forget it.
I'll take a 5 or 10 minute discrepancy without comment or hard feelings. These girls do work hard for a living and there is some preparation and cleanup required -- though 10 minutes is a stretch! Anything longer than that, and I'll take issue with it.
Obviously, I didn't care about the $5 then, and I don't really care about the odd 10 minutes these days. But these girls get away with lousy customer service all the time. To some degree, you have to put your foot down when it's particularly egregious.
