I still don't get this logic?
Putting safety first?
She dropped to her knees the moment you arrived for a BBBJ, but no DFK?
This is a close contact sport, if either of you had covid then now you both have it.
It's absolutely a contact sport, and all contact comes with some risk. However, not all contact is created equal....I get your point, and agree that we were both taking a risk overall today. But I disagree that there is no benefit, nor reduction of risk, achieved by forgoing the swapping of saliva.
If it infects a person, the virus infects the respiratory system, which is mostly the mouth, nose, and lungs. It is spread via "respiratory droplets" which come from the mouth and nose. Or by saliva, which is basically respiratory droplets that haven't been released into the air yet via speaking, coughing, or other means.
To get infected, fluid from an infected person's respiratory system (from one person's mouth, nose, lungs) needs to get into your respiratory system (basically, through the mouth or nose). That's why public health experts recommend avoiding touching our mouth or nose....because those are the places where virus from someone else can enter our body and actually infect us. The mouth and nose are the gateway through which the virus enters our body.
So yes, I myself recognize that in normal times, the following statement would be crazy. But in 2020, I believe it is true: for the time being, a sloppy BBBJ is less risky to both parties than DFK.
