Don’t take this statement to personally , maybe some self reflection is required. High quality talent looks for highly qualified clientele. Handsome, well groomed, repeat, big spenders. You should hear some of the horror stories Judy and Yuyo have told me about a few of the customers walking through the door. Remember, they TOFTT on every new customer. Please don’t kill the messenger.
I like your comment, but don't totally agree. A couple of dissenting points:
1. Their TOFTT is much different from ours. With their TOFTT, they get paid. In contrast, we have to pay. So for them, there may be a yuck factor, but they still make good $$ (assuming the guy is a reasonable tipper). When we have a subpar provider, we lost $$ AND have a bad experience. So while they might "break even", we suffer a double whammy loss.
2. To quote Godfather II: "This is the business we (they) have chosen." Meaning: a yuck factor, while unwelcome, is an inherent part of the job. Just like it is for a Dentist, OB/GYN, or even a plumber. But they get compensated for that yuck factor, so its incumbent on them to be professionals. In the LV APMPs, its a given the clients aren't going to be Brad Pitt. But these girls are not spring chickens either. Regardless of how they look, most are in their late 30s to early 50s. So hot urban markets are likely closed to them. Anywhere else they flee to, the clients probably aren't going to be a whole lot better. And some parts of the country, they might be a lot worse. So if they want to stay in the biz, they can either suck it up or retire.
3. I'm no Brad Pitt by any means, but I do consider myself above average for my age. Because of that, I have no problem with the "horror stories", because those make guys like me seem a whole lot better (the AMP equivalent of beer goggles). As long as those horror-show guys don't actually scare the girls out of the biz (see my point #2) , I say "Bring 'em on".
