40th road will have less traffic until the primary election is over in June, then with the local politicians and media not pressing this as much as a concern and the heat rising we'll be back to laughing at the hilarious reviews we read from this area......

No one is saying avoid flushing.
With Long Island dead and the few that are still around mostly in Suffolk county are risky at best. Flushing is still the best place for relatively cheap mongering. Just need to be careful!

About a year ago a house guest from China who stayed about a month apparently had a rescue dog while in China. After a week I started feeling things crawling on me but the critters were hard to see. I finally captured one with scotch tape and put it under a microscope. I concluded it was some kind of flea. It apparently came in the luggage. It took special soap, continual vacuuming and finally got rid of them after about three weeks. Moral of the story is I've been to 40th Road and I shall never return. You don't know what kind of bug or scabby you can pick up. It is misery and they bite and leave marks. They are tough to get rid of and if you have a SO you will have to do some fast talking. Even then, her radar will be up.

I've been getting bit by something off and on every 2 months for over a year & a half
My first thought was it was bed bugs so i flipped my bedroom upside down.
But not once did i find a bug at all so Im not sure what it is.
What do you think i should do?

They are very hard to see. They look like a grain of pepper at ten feet. I was outside in the bright sunlight and I saw one on the instep of my foot where there isn't much hair and the skin is pale. You can't pick them up even with a tweezers. So I used scotch tape. Again they are very small. You can barely feel them as they bump into the hairs on hands and arms. Then you feel the bite. I'm not an insect expert but the shape of the thing in the microscope matched that attached picture. After I was complaining for a few days someone admitted to having a dog in China. T F YIKES! For some reason I was bothered more than my other two occupants who happened to be Asian. In the 70's I knew a guy who screwed anything with a pulse. Wharton MBA & retired Naval officer married to a gal with a super job. She was in her late 20's making six figures in 1975. They banned phosphates from laundry detergent around that time and he and she infested with scabbies. They had so many bites she had gauze on her wrists. They had to leave their house for three days while it was fumagated. She was so trusting but she eventually had to dump him. Who knows where he had been. I went to a place on 40th Rd one time and that's all I could think of.

Vacuum all carpeting every day and then empty the bag outside. I think the vacuuming did it for me. I also did a good deal of mopping. It depends how much of a big deal you want to make. If have a SO who might get suspicious then lay the groundwork with a good story and then get to work. Just don't start cleaning as if it's some part of a New Years resolution. If you don't have to worry about the SO then hit it hard because these critters multiply. Also, there is a Phisohex type of a liquid soap at the pharmacy you can buy. I used a few bottles as shampoo and body wash. Talk to the pharmacist. Tell him you have critters - fleas, scabbies, lice etc and he'll know. Also they do get into your hair. I could feel them crawling around. I was worried they were going to build a new Shanghai up there. As I mentioned, it was misery and I didn't have a major case. Letting it go can't be good.

havent gotten any bites so far this year but from time to time i do feel a itchy feeling as if something is crawling on me then i turn the lights on and use my iphone light to see closely but i never see anything at all. I mainly would get bites on my legs but again nothing so far this year just that crawling feeling every so often...TIME FOR ME TO START DEEP CLEANING thanx alot sir
