I'm confused on why they didn't teach you research and preparation skills in College, or are you in a trade or government work (no degree)?
When I was your age getting into the hobby there were less free accurate reviews and intel. So I did like I would do based on buying any product or service that cost $100+. I called around and judged based on tone of voice and whether they had an attitude and lined up several options and rank ordered them. At that time smart phones were weak so had to do most research on home wifi in a desktop before venturing out.
If you did your research on 98 Mott you would NOT have selected this place for a first time session. I did not go to 98 Mott until I was already 1 year into the hobby and had adequate Intel from UG (which I believe is now defunct?) and SH which is also gone.
I can understand being defrauded in BK or Queens but almost anything in Manhattan has already been reviewed to death, resurrected and beaten like a dead horse again.
Morale of the story: Research everything!
Being completely frank, I didn't expect to find a forum related to this specific hobby. In the beginning, I was very paranoid about being caught in a pd trap. I'm also trying to avoid using my phone number to call for anything because I don't want anything traced back to me.
From the research I did (obv not enough), it looked like many (im probably wrong) of the massage parlors were legitimate. I didn't want to be the creeper asking for everything at a legitimate massage joint. I only chose 98 Mott because it looked way to shady to be a big brother trap. Granted, it was also terrible. That's my lesson learned along with doing more research.
I honestly am surprised that this forum exists and I really hope no le finds this site.
Also, I'm actually from BK. I had an engagement in Queens on a weekend so I was actually planning to go to Flushing first but the trains were out of whack. I ended up settling for China Town.
I appreciate your honest feedback. I definitely learned my lesson. Need to really research 10x more. And I should try to be more assertive (I should have said no to the provider when I got there). Really wish there was a post on basic amp etiquette.
