What if the providers post your GV number for their search purpose? I could be wrong, It looks like once a provider post a GV number on a search engine, it becomes public?

They could do that. But, if its attached to a fake account, it is still a dead end. GV is just one solution. In the end, everyone should do what they think is best.

!!!!Totally Agree, If u move to Protonmail - get the .CH address not the .COM, as the .COM uses a U.S. conduit for certain items & could be subject to LE. The protonmail.ch accounts are out of reach (for most part) from uncle LEO.

Uh, okay. Except I never send them emails. And even if they did, and they got the IP address, it would not be my IP address. It would be one temporarily allocated by my service provider. Or, to put it another way: I'm not shitting my pants over the prospect of a spa girl tracking me down through my fake SM profile.

That is odd, She was talking to me about their thermostat after I told her what I do for a living a few weeks back.

Maybe I'm naïve, but I have no idea how a spa or spa-girl could track my GV number back to me. My GV number is associated with a GMail account that I specifically use for mongering activities (so a fake number leading to a fake ID). Plus, I don't post it on websites. I just give use it to call spas or text providers. So far, its been very safe (& free). But to each his own. A short primer on GV traceability is below:

Of course, I am sure LE could trace it if the got motivated. I don't think anything is safe from them, however.

There is an article talking about Google Voice on LNP, Money Section today. According to the tech expert, it seems that the GV is the better option. Read the article and go from there.
