Do Chinese and Taiwanese people look different?
What's different or benefit?
Before Taiwan was invaded by the Chinese and Japanese many, many many years ago, the native population was polynesian and many believe they were to first to arrive in Hawaii. If you do a DNA analysis of many native Taiwanese you will find a large amount of Polynesian DNA. In fact the current President of Tiawan has polynesian DNA.
But to answer your question , Chinese, Japanese ,Korean Tiawanese resemble each other.
Recently on the internet there was a site that asked you to identify the nationality of 10 asians from photos. Most people I know only got 5 or less correct.
While most Tiawanese will speak a Tiawanese version of Mandarin Chinese (similar to how American and British English is different), they do have their own unique native dialect
Be careful when addressing a Tiawanese as some will resent being called Chinese
