So I’m kinda new to the game and I’m wondering how to navigate the screening process when it comes to places like Shangrila?

I text and they asked for my ID and work ID, I blocked all my personal information and left my shorthand name visible - (John)athan

They said they needed everything but my address and my (state) ID number. Is this normal per verification? I think I’m ready for the big leagues, or at least my wallet is but giving out this info seems risky!

But look at all the reviews being posted by this place. Unless you think this location is only asking you for this info (which it isn't), then how do you think most others got verified here?

If you don't feel comfortable then don't do it. If you do then do.

You could also ask them if there are other ways of being verified. I.e references from other amps. Then you could visit possibly the places that have not as strict verification processes and build up from there

I know I was asking a noob question but with how traffic flows on this site, I thought maybe their was an update to the routine possibly.

Whatever they are asking you to do is what they ask everyone typically.
You either feel comfortable or you don't
