Apparently a sequel series is coming for Toranaga (really Tokugawa Ieyasu) and Blackthorn (really William Adams).

Anjin seemed like the weakest link in the cast…something about his “acting” voice was a bit too much. In real life Adams went native and married a local woman, so maybe they can replace Sewal…after Anji spends some quality time in the Willow World lol. I’d like to see more of the Portuguese sailor as he was memorable.

On another front the 80s shogun had no subtitles or dubbing of any Japanese…we only understood what Anjin heard translated or could imply.

I only watched a couple episodes of this then gave up even though it’s one of my favorite books. That Anjin was a terrible casting, whoever he was, and Kashigi Yabu was more of a clown than he was evil. I’d try a sequel without that guy as anjin.
