If you get caught in a raid most likely not much
That's the current legal status. Queens DA Katz has made Solicitation a Low Priority crime. Roosevelt Ave raid, 6 shops closed, but not a single arrest. Providers, Management, and customers all told to go home.

However, one huge thing to keep in mind: if arrested, NYPD has legal authority to conduct a search. So, no recreational pharma, no weapons, and most importantly, no outstanding warrants.

Any time the police arrest you and ask you questions, the only thing you say is LAWYER.... if they ask your name, your answer should be , LAWYER. Where do you live, LAWYER. Don't incriminate yourself, only say lawyer.

All they want is that sweet sweet DHS "human trafficking" money. Not interested in you or the girls. 100% the answer to every question is lawyer, but after three or four of these, remain silent. If you can't behave with your mouth, then remain silent is first.

not quire related to this particular scenario, but good and valid tips nonetheless. Note the phone number. Don't play ass, cooperate in calm and prudent way, but be mindful of what you say and how you say it. Be prepared. On the side note, if this doesn't feel comfortable for you, you are better off not doing it. Why risk your career, if you are not self-employed?

If you can not afford a lawyer the court will appoint one for you when you are in court
Which is during his arraignment. And since he hasn't provided ID, he will listed as John Doe, and remain in custody until the Public Defender can get him out. That could be a few hours, or a few days. Given the legal status for Solicitation, it actually might be best to just give your name (you don't have to provide ID) and hope they let you go. Try not to give them a reason to detain you unnecessarily.
