Totally forgot about “breakthrough” Covid, especially since most of us who did the RIGHT thing got our booster this past winter, when Omnicron reached its dangerous heights. By now, its effectiveness must be diminishing.

Totally forgot about “breakthrough” Covid, especially since most of us who did the RIGHT thing got our booster this past winter, when Omnicron reached its dangerous heights. By now, its effectiveness must be diminishing.

No... the life of the vaccine we were originally inoculated with, the Alpha variant, had six months. Conclusive tests in Israel saw that the second shot to the Alpha variant, also offered six months protection. Then six months passed. We all went for the booster. At that time the virus morphed into Beta, the first booster worked well against beta, Then we started to see Delta and Beta. The booster and original vaccines still offered robust protection against all variants however more testing found that the first booster only offered 4 months against Omicron, then it morphed to B2 , B4 and now B5.
B5 infects at a rate of 10,000 times faster than the original. The vaccine boosters offer only 20% protection, just enough to keep you out of the hospital. However again the game changer is Paxlovid the pill you take in the first 5 days. I will keep on spreading the word. It is important for all. If you get a fever, feel like your throat is on fire, raspy in the chest, test your self. Everyone should have several home testers. If you are positive call the doctor immediately. CVS generally carries a healthy amount. You MUST take this immediately it will not work after 5 days, and workd much quicker if you take it the first or second day. In the fall we will all be getting the multi variant Booster which protects against all known covid variant Alpha, Beta, Delta and Omicron... should be here in later October.

The question is… how do these viruses effect “mongering” (for lack of a better term) in the coming months, especially in the NYC metro area, which has one of the greatest numbers of monkeypox cases in the entire country, and will inevitably have an increase in Covid cases in the coming months, as warmer weather subsides, and vaccine effectiveness starts to wane?

Contacted a “pro” who told me she REFUSED to provide a “GFE” while monkeypox was around.
This is gonna be akin to the crime “wave” hitting NYC - the PERCEPTION will be far worse than the REALITY.

I saw a non FS provider who insinuated they will offer BBBJ and we could talk about it in person. I went in person and she threw a curveball. I stayed because ive made the commute but I wont be seeing her for a while. This same provider is working weekends and days she never worked before. She tried to play it off as "covering for a girl that got a family "emergency"", yeah ok lol. She's even selling pictures on her twitter page often.
I think monkeypox will just add on to the slowness now. Times like this providers should have money saved up or a temporary plan B.

Even though it's not fatal, this thing looks NASTY and the way it's contracted, good luck explaining that to a significant other. You're not catching this from a cough in line at the supermarket.
I'm not getting a vaccine for every new thing that comes out so I guess I'm going to shut it down for the rest of the Summer and see how all this shakes out in the late Fall.
