Interesting to me that some take offense when responsible members in the Allentown thread recommend erring on the side of caution and ask that others resist the urge to go into detail reminiscent of a sophomore in high school bragging to the others in study hall about a weekend conquest. Please don’t get me wrong, details are critical and should be shared, that is both the point and value add of the site and I am a grateful and active member for that very reason. That said, there are legit reasons and valid concerns for those pleas of discretion and tact. There’s a fine line between sharing an abundance of information that fully, accurately, and vividly captures all relevant info and sharing too much that runs the risk of giving out so much detail that we inadvertently(benefit of the doubt to those that beg for overtly descriptive public posts) take away opportunity to visit the establishments that this forum was so brilliantly created to discuss and share information about. Just sayin, difference between wanting and expecting to hear certain info and almost inviting too much to be shared. Be relevant, be descriptive, be through, and be smart. All of these can exist in a great review without unnecessary, gratuitous, and irresponsible inclusion of certain things. This is particularly true when certain aspects of the encounter are tethered to others details of the visit. Even the establishments utilize cautious wording on their websites and posted materials in the spas and that’s for one simple reason: they would like to continue doing business with us. I benefit tremendously from others reviews(as i hope others do from mine), and if I have more questions, I reach out via PM and start a convo. The site makes it easy to do this and presumably the reason why public comments, private comments, and pm each have their own subsections. Its not my place to question why some people are clearly very troubled by other responsible members respectfully suggesting a more prudential approach in reviews, but I can’t help but question the ultimate goal of those that incessantly push back while others are simply trying to make sure that these places stay available to us all. Perhaps they have never been a satisfied customer of an establishment to only experience the disappointment when they learned that their favorite establishment has been shuttered due mainly to lack of discretion by some? I posit that they may not be aware that this is a concern and may not have experienced this personally only because it seems the most vocal opponents of some type of discretion do not have any reviews of their own.
