Am I overthinking this?

So I've been considering going to one for a while now, did research in my area, asked around all that. But the more I think about it the more I lose my nerve as I start to think of every single way this could go wrong. Police Raids, getting ripped off, or hell just being turned away because I'm a minority. And the fact that there is a safer but more expensive option in traveling to Thailand for a week or two doesn't help my anxiety either. I know I'm probably stressing over nothing, but I wanna make sure I get this right.

Been there done that...You're new its normal you'll be nervous and worry about those things. You did the research and if it you see that its legit then take the next step and make an appointment then go from there.

I remember my first AMP visit, I was scared of theft, I insisted on taking my clothes to the shower room so they would not be out of my sight. Of course I wasn't smart enough to leave my wallet in the car.

I now always lock my wallet up in the car. Except I forgot to today! I wasn't going to go back out, after remembering, but I wasn't worried at all. That said, I made sure my credit/debit cards were in the wallet before I drove away.

go with amp's for a start, many are good ones , 365 spa, hawai, queen, etc, read the reviews or go with tina at bergen healing a good massage and a hj.
police raids, chances are almost zero, been at this for 35 years never happened as long as to stick with the reviewed ones and trust me money packets are going to the local PD. you really think 365, hawai, queen are operating in the open the local pd dont know what is going on considering the amount of men going in and comming out of these places.
ripped off - stick with amps and read the reviews how much to pay, stay away from indys till you get some experience.
turned away for being minority, these girls care about money, they dont care if you are minorty or majority.

forget thailand for now, get some local experience before you go international;. learn the tricks of the trade. if you get into trouble in thailand, there is nobody to help you.

Well there are a few like that in my area, 819, Tokyo, Orange, just to name a few. But the ones i really wanted to go to are AAMPs which from what i can gather are much more..."To the point".

Yeah, you are overthinking it. AMPs are extremely low risk and I have never had one steal from me. Your chance of being arrested in a police raid are probably almost the same as being struck by lightning. It may well take a few times before you get it right, but that is part of the (fun) learning experience. It won't set you back that much.

To me, going to a foreign country to hobby is expensive and potentially very high risk. Just imagine ending up in a foreign jail. If you can't imagine it, watch the 1978 movie "Midnight Express". If that doesn't scare the shit out of you, nothing will.

The whole point of this thread is to reinforce what he already wants, he just wants to hear it from internet strangers. Answers will get follow-up questions until he feels satisfied and then he will make his own decision.

Don't make it sound like I'm so conceited, Im just trying to get a better idea of law enforcement movements or if they generally care enough if it's only something like this. I guess what i really want is solid evidence that nothing is going to happen, if there's one thing I've always hated it's going into something blind.

There is no solid evidence that nothing is going to happen. Shit happens in life.

I know several mongers who are LE and they know everything about the amps all over the five boroughs.

Either you go or you don’t.

I agree with other posters that this is not a "safer" option. Besides the issues of culture shock and rain forest borne/ tropical diseases (look up DENGUE FEVER, for one), insurance companies are now offering Ransom Policies for international travelers. The policy kicks in if you get kidnapped and there is a ransom that needs paid.

Yep have friends there... they have been kidnapped and also have witnessed murder/manslaughter at a nightclub.

As soon as you enter you will be apprehended. What will you do with this information now?
