I miss CiCi. She is absolutely paronoid/terrified of Covid and has taken a hiatus. She’s not answering texts because she turned off her work phone.

Wow, turned it off? I had not checked,, just looked obvious she was on hiatus. She was always extra careful overall. Remember once she booked apartment literallly down the street from me and when i told her she said she was going to move. That she did like the next few days, lol.

Lol yup! She would take my phone and erase our texts every time I arrived for our appointment. Years ago she wasn’t like that. I think she had some bad experiences with A-hole customers and took more precautions. I really hope she comes back.

I saw Cici on and off for 7-8 years, had mixed feelings about her. In 2019, when other independent providers started to dry up, I started appreciating her more. Before Covid, I'd be clocking in 3-4 times a month with her, I developed a lot of respect and affection for her.

But, I don't blame her for fleeing. Hong Kong locked down early and hard, they got things under control. Life's been back to almost normal, my expat buds say the Wan Chai bars are roaring along ..

Her loss will be one more thing to mourn.
