Here you go with the gun control nonsense.
No. Simple statistics. Frequency of Occurrence: the more times something occurs, the more possibility a specific result will happen.

Another way to look at it which nobody wants to talk about, white ppl are disproportionately on psychiatric drugs, almost all mass shooters were on some kinds of psychiatric meds, true fact!
And the mental state of the shooter. Gun access is just one component of mass shootings.

Scotty is just being factual

just base it on the numbers https://massshootingtracker.site . and for everyone on the thread going at Scotty and you actually live in NYC or another big city, how can you have your head in the sand and think his points are just racist? I'm actually laughing my ass off seeing knowing people here have the same world outlook of the average college student. i guess i'm dumb thinking people might be willing to be truthful about the world in a forum like this.
Clearly, you haven't realized that @ScottyKing was suspended for his comments, which you don't think seems to apply to you either. Well, it does.

It's one thing to think however you think, but to put it into words that offends people, is not in the spirit of our board. Please learn that the next time you post a comment, after your vacation is over.

To me the suspect appears to be hispanic. If you listen to the video when he leaves, he turns and says something to her. Also is carrying a shoulder bag with a frilly white coat, possibly transgender, a very effeminate strut.

I often have this conversation with some of the providers especially the indies, about having some protection. My weapon of choice is a 4 shot .32 caliber derringer called a ladyfinger. White or Silver with a white pearl handle. The compatment under the handle carries and additional four shots. It is very small and equally as powerful. One shot to the head will take half his face off. A shot to the groin will determine if they are trans or not.

The police can not always be there to protect you. Arm yourself there is no one here to defend you.

What has this thread turned into?
The hard cold truth - these indies and ground floor AMPs take a real chance.

And for all the complainers and conspiracy ID critics - this is why you are asked to provide information about who you are - a valid drivers license , references etc are a small price to insure their safety . Clearly this low end rat trap didn’t take those precautions- now the provider is hurt . She didn’t ask for ID or background - and this is what can happen when you don’t ask!

I get the sentiment here, but, at least in the case of AMP providers, that would concern me. It makes me think of a situation I had at an amp. I gave the $$$$ donation up front. When I put down an extra $40 tip at the end, the girl looked quizzically at it, and then said I owe her $$$$ not 40. I told her that I gave it to her at the beginning. She insisted that I never did. The MMS came in and seemed disposed to take the girl's side (which I didn't totally fault since she knew the girl and her character better than she knew me). A couple of minutes into the dispute, I noticed an envelope on a dresser and told her to look there. The girl opens it, and there are the Benjamins I gave her. She had put the money in the envelope but forgot, and she apologized profusely. I'm a calm guy and never let it escalate. But I can imagine that kind of situation becoming more heated, the girl pulling a gun to demand what she believes she is owed, and accidentally taking off half of some innocent guy's face.

Totally off point - you didn’t assault her - but if you lost your shit and said hey you dumb ho bitch - started punching and choking her - if it escalated to that - even if she wrongly accused you - if you went nuts - she can shoot you and you would deserve it .

The line is drawn in the sand - if you assault her ,and she feels her life is in danger - under the articles of deadly physical force - she has the legal right to kill you

So do not engage - don’t give her a reason .

That fails to take into account the percentage of times someone: makes a mistake handling the gun, overreacts out of fear, misunderstands the others actions etc… leading to a tragedy that would never had occurred without a gun being present. Gun owners who are paranoid, skittish, have anxiety disorders, struggle with mental illness aren’t reliable experts on drawing appropriate lines.

I’ll quote Shane - a gun is like any other tool - a hammer , a pitchfork - it’s as good or as bad as the man using it .

Exactly.

We don't let just anyone take possession of just any tool. Sometimes you need training, sometimes you need a license to keep track of who has & uses the tool, sometimes it's just off limits.

People grab the wrong tool all the time for all sorts of wrong reasons - laziness, impatience, anger, ignorance, over or under estimating its necessity for the situation - all sorts of situations. A tool whose only use is to kill people should be the one we are strictest with.

(And what someone wrote in the founding documents of our government has nothing to do with that.)

Premise permits is fine for a single operator shop. NYC Law mandates only the licensee is legally allowed to operate the firearm. With the firearm needing to be secured so it's not easily accessible.

It gets complicated when there are employees. The permit will require that all employees be vetted. So no illegals. No felonies. No known mental issues. You also can't transfer to an employee, even in the event of an emergency. Even if the employee has a Pistol permit, as s/he can only operate their own firearm.

Legalities aside, should a discharge occur, there's no guarantees of any specific legal outcome. Everything depends on the skill of your attorney, and the mood of the jury.
