Agree w Jim hatez about Mahomes.
Of course he’s a top 3 QB but this “I’m in agony” crap then jogs off the field and later runs for 40 yards full speed.
A humble drama queen but a drama queen nonetheless.

Chiefs out coached the Eagles in the second half.
Every pass the receivers were wide open.
The 2 TDs in the 4th quarter were the same play
that completely fooled the eagles defense.
Guy were wide open.

It wasn’t Mahomes was great, it was the play calling was completely fooling the defense and that’s why it look so easy.

Andy Reid or whomever drew up the plays
and made the adjustments is the MVP.

Nah he was legitimately hurt. You could tell just from his initial reaction as the hit occurred plus the visual of the hyper-extension. There was no way that was gonna draw a flag. He definitely got a shot of cortisone & lidocaine with a tight wrap during the halftime and never felt that ankle again until it wore off after the game.

The guy played tough in the second half… some guys would’ve folded thought about their future and crumbled down 10. If he was a pre-Madonna he would’ve folded and considered his future being down 10 while hurt. Dude was solid.
As far as being a beneficiary of a system… look at Hurts. The Eagles aggressive risk taking is a game changer that other’s are gonna copy. It’ll cause a paradigm shift on 3& 4th down play calling. Hurts is a below average pro QB. After he gets knocked around a bit he’ll be done.

Story came out that during preparation Chiefs offensive coordinator (Bienemy?) showed game film of Eagles not covering guys on jet sweep motion in the red zone and told the team “this will be open for us” and sure enough receivers strolled into the end zone twice in the second half uncovered. Gannon apparently had no plan for this. Oh well, he’s the Cardinals problem now.

Yes we got outcoached thoroughly the second half- KC receivers were wide open, ours had narrow windows, no QB pressure as they effectively chipped the edge rushers and Riddick had trouble with traction (I know, they all played on the same slippery grass but his game particularly depends on traction as he angles low to turn the corner). They adjusted and we did not. What coaches all say, “we need to put our players in position to maximize their strengths”, was clearly evident as KC did this when the chips were down and Philly coaches did not so all the talk of Eagles having more talent went out the window.

As far as the officiating it’s a shame to have the end game focused on a call rather than the players and the expected perfect ending drama of a final Eagles drive was ruined so I agree with the critics who thought the technical holding was better made a no call. I was sitting next to Chiefs fans in section 429 and they were complaining about the refs too. But it was not ultimately the officiating but the game experience that determined the outcome: they played with confidence at crunch time while our defense was confused and offense struggled somewhat.
Reid and Mahomes outclassed Serianni and Hurts when it counted.

Coaching won that game in the second half. Cox and Davis in the middle the second half got torched in the ground game and the play designs torched the secondary.

bad officiating catches up with both teams eventually but the rules are what ruined the game
what is a catch was a deciding factor several times and worked for and against both teams
you can’t say the game was decided on a single call since there were several that favored both teams

Those 'catch' plays all were reviewed though (took way too long on each imo but they gotta get the commercials in). So I can't blame officials once there is a replay review.

The holding call at the end is a different story. Refs are human, sometimes the moment can be too big and quite possible that happened here. The call was made over 58 minutes into a 60 minute game, no holding penalties of any kind were called up to that point. So a standard of 'letting them play' to a significant degree was established. The official who threw the flag was not in the best position to make the call. He was at the goal line, and only threw the flag after the ball landed incomplete. Possibly the only errant pass Mahomes threw in the 2nd half. The official closer to line of scrimmage with best view of hold, and there was a hold, did not call anything.

Did the call decide the game. Technically no, an anti-climactic field goal decided the game. But the call certainly changed the complexion of the last 2 minutes and sent the excitement level plummeting. Probably cost Fox a few commercials too.

For a multi-billion dollar corporation like the NFL, these officials need to be full time employees and paid accordingly. We don't need to see guys who are accountants and insurance salesmen Monday thru Friday. I thought that would have changed when the league got in bed with all the gambling sites, but what the hell do I know.

The worst thing the Eagles can do now is drop a pile investing in that Fool’s Gold QB they now have. He’s a wet noodled arm QB who was the beneficiary of a weak schedule & coaching system that maximized his talents while hiding his weaknesses. The 3rd and 4th down analytics they practiced were groundbreaking… it’ll change the way offensive game plans are formulated. Every so often a bold coach figures out an angle that other coaches were too conservative and cowardly to exploit and then everyone ends up copying them.

If the official sees an admitted interference grab from his angle in real time and doesn’t make the call it’s even more controversial. He’s paid to call penalties when he sees penalties. When you make a bet you make a bet with the understanding about how the calls are officiated.

Realistically you could call that holding on 70% of plays.
The refs use their discretion when to call it.

The refs in the championship game and in the Super Bowl made horrendous decisions that ended those two games.
Could’ve had great game ending drives or overtime by great QBs.

The championship game would’ve been overtime
between Mahomes and Burrow.

In the super bowl, Hurts would have had 1:40 to
tie, win or lose it.
Great drama taken away.

Awful way to end the NFL season.
