so i think we should start that topic here. i mean theres one in the manhattan section called steaks or something lol

before or after the visit eating some good food always feels good.....more on after though cuz getting an upset stomach or being full before the visit aint all that lol

so on my quick list we have white bear. order#6 even the cook knows best seller. raised price in last 2 years but still good stuff. spicy so becareful

then we have 39kings been open since 2001 but renamed 3-4 times. still the same people same food. best quality? open till 4am with full menu including dimsum and bubbletea. but now takeout only

streetcart. used to be a dollar then 1.25 now 1.75 for a stick. still great taste though. also hav a side cart with more menu. my fav? stinky tofu. back then was 4bucks now its 7 but still tastes good. back then they only fried it. now they add the seasoning the add on the kebabs too open till 12 or 1am i think depending on business

this is a hole in the wall (taiwainese food) but its bigger on the inside one of my favorite go tos precovid. they had 3 dishes and a soup for 20 or something like that and it was good. plus they had stinky tofu that i liked lol (taiwainese style which is different from hong kong style)

there is another taiwainese place that used to be on the opposite corner of 39th and prince. we called it 66 cuz that was their number. or peoples for their offical name. but they moved over to 40th rd across from lirr another good spot to fill ur drunk appetite whenever we hung out late kareoke or watch movies. didnt pass by so didn take a picture.

theres also 2 cherng fun places on roosevelt that are nice. the one next to dunkin by the train station and further up across from new world mall.

when hyatt first opened their rooftop bar was banging. called leaf bar. they had a nice food menu. mostly appetizers but they had 2 or 3 entrees. their fried chkn. french fries were good. they also had sliders. peking duck bun. and these noodles omg my fav. but its been a few years and i heard it might not be as good but ima try and go back to taste it. plus u cant get drinks without ordering food

thats about it for now. other hole in the walls or decent establishments i liked either closed down or moved. theres some other places i havnt been to since lockdown so dont know if they are still there

theres thousands of new places that i hav no clue about so lets add to the list lol

Is there any other spot that makes nice lamb or pork buns like the ones from Xian’s that might stay open late?
I bought delicious pork buns right outside of the new world mall on roosevelt ave the other night. they're set up right on the street!

FYI - after 7pm they drop their prices drastically cuz they're closing at 8. I got 6 plates and a cup of watermelon juice for $20!

PS Shi-Shi who took my order is a hot MILF :p

@dudenuts I will try 1, 2, and 4 on your list. Have any other places for spicy food?
@bxboy You just gave a serious life hack. It's like the pre-prepared foods you see at Korean supermarkets.

Anyways, my recommendation is Cheo Gat Jip but they stylized it to Cheo God Zip. I would say they have the best non-traditional Korean food in this area of Queens except for chicken which I think still has to go to Mad for Chicken. btw, thanks for the recs. I've always wanted to try the different Chinese Asian places around Main Street but the few places I have gone to have been kinda duds and I dunno any Chinese people who know Flushing that well.

Since this thread was bumped and I'm bored out of my mind at work, I'll chime in. Not my hood, but I'm there pretty frequently.

For steam rolls, try the famous Joe's Steam Rice Roll on Roosevelt. I recommend the BBQ or Shrimp. Make sure to get it with peanut sauce.

A little further north on Roosevelt is Lucia's pizza, which I very seldomly frequent, but is popular.

Someone above mentioned Haidilao which is world renowned, but the hotpot opposite them on 39th Ave has very fresh meat as well. The name escapes me at this time.

For Malaysian cuisine, there's Paparich which caters to the younger folk, but the small little store on 40th Rd with a green awning is more authentic.

Best bubble tea to me is Xing Fu Tang on the corner opposite Starbucks. A bit pricey, but the bubbles are freshly made.

Asian Jewels on 39th Ave across from the Tangram complex has the best dim sum. For fancier (and more expensive) dim sum, try the newly opened Dim Sum Garden on 40th Rd.

Flushing has many Sichuan restaurants, two of which are located within the popular Fulton Square complex. Guan Fu I believe is Michelin star, but the Mountain House draws a lot more people.

For cantonese cuisine, Imperial Palace on 37th Ave is the most authentic. And Maxi's Noodles on 38th Ave for authentic Hong Kong style noodles.

Not many japanese options in Flushing, but I do like the ramen place (Kyuramen) in front of PGS/24HR. Gyu-Kaku is the only japanese BBQ place in the area and is good every once in a blue moon.

NOLA seafood just opened up on Prince. I want to see if it has any semblance to actual chargilled food in New Orleans so I plan to stop by over the weekend.

If you venture outside the downtown area, I like Nolbu for my kimbab, Northern Sushi for sashimi (Korean place), and... that's all I can think of off the top of my head for now lol.

Thanks bro. I will only disagree with one place you mentioned - Lucia's on Roosevelt may be popular but that's because there isn't an actual GOOD pizzeria nearby. Their pizza SUCKS.:((n)

Best pizza place is about a mile away in the strip mall near the Whitestone Multiplex - Amore Pizzeria & Restaurant. Big Tony introduced me to this place. I was never a big pizza guy cuz I'd only eat pizza from Lucia's or Pizza Hut - and never thought it was all that. But their pizza is amazing!!! :)(y)(y)

Agreed, I only said it was popular, not that it was any good lol. The best pizza place in Flushing used to be that shop underneath the north side of the LIRR on Main but it's been long gone.

Yes, Amore is good, the only good thing in that strip mall. I personally prefer VIPizza on Bell Blvd.

A few other spots just popped into my head:

- Since 66 is gone (from both Prince and 40th Rd), the only good place to get Taiwanese beef noodle is from that newly opened Four Four South Village place on Prince.

- I like the kimchi udon noodles from COOP.

- Within the new world mall basement food court, laoma malatang is the most popular among the many in the area.

- oh, for good cheap fried dumplings, I HIGHLY recommend this hole in the wall next to Gyu Kaku (and Teso on the other side) on 41st Avenue. It's like $6 for 16 pieces or something like that. They also have good 豆腐花(sorry dunno the english equivalent words). It's like soft tofu with honey.

Yes, that's the Nolbu and Northern Sushi I'm referring to. If you want to venture outside of downtown flushing for japanese, Izakaya Mew is a trendy spot on Northern and 146ish. Hongdae is an equivalent (smaller) trendy korean spot near the Murray Hill LIRR station. I recommend both.

And now you're starting to venture into Bayside lol with your japanese finds. I've never been to hashi ramen, but nippon cha is more of a (mediocre) bubble tea place. I can probably come up with a list of places for Bayside by itself.

Earlier this evening, I got skewers from this new food truck next to Starbucks on 41st Ave. It's called "Take your hand" - pretty good. I plan to try NOLA tomorrow night.

Yup! Still there lol. The Ctown and 8th Ave vans are still there too.

Just be careful when ordering. Unfortunately, there's still people who have no concept of a line. I cuss em out in english and subtly elbow them when they try to skip me.
