$130k salary, plus $20k bonus. I save 11% (company match 6%). Been saving since my "career" began in 1988. Earning $19k, I quit my first job with $10k in my 401k. Assets now exceed $1MM. No debt, other than mortgage and credit cards are paid in full every month.
I own modest and dependable cars (Subaru, Mazda, etc.). Salary keeps the roof over head and food on the table. Bonus pays for "extra-curricular" activities. Some of my investments are in liquid assets, so I can access them and splurge for a trip when I find someone willing to jump on a plane. Tax refund ($10k) is my secret stash, for unexpected "emergencies". Girlfriend loves elephants, so I'm taking her to South Africa. 90% of the trip is already paid off. We depart in 2020.
I visit AMPs once a week, twice tops. Also have a timeshare in DR, which I am beginning to question...it was fun for a while. DR women, are almost as delicious as Asians (crazier for sure, but too exciting to pass up). Going to DR one more time, and that's it! Wish me luck.
