Whelp, after years of mongering it finally happened. I got a fucking STD. Gonorrhea of the mouth to be exact. Could resist 69ing with the goddamn k-girls. Contrary to what you may read on the internet, this shit sucks. Bad. Like the worst sore throat I've had in my life, no sleep for days, and eating is absolutely brutal. I'm not naming names or orgs, but I will share this - using mouthwash before oral isn't recommended (causes micro-cuts in the mouth), but after could help.

Either way I always promised myself I would quit if I got any STDs (go ahead, call me a quitter). It's time.

It's incredibly common among adults over about 30 who were sexually active before the vaccine became available. Basically if you had any amount of sex, protected or otherwise, with multiple partners before about 2006, you likely have HPV even if you've never had an outbreak. If you're under 45, you can still get the vaccine. Highly recommended.

I'm in my 50's got HPV at 19, but actually didn't know it until about 29. Doctor mis-diagnosed it when young. Gave it to a girlfriend when 29, she broke up with me.

I just got tested after reading this thread. Thankfully, I'm negative on the big 4 STIs. I have an SO who knows about what I do but wants me to be extra careful. She'd be pissed if I give her an STI. Anyway, I asked the clinician what was safe, what wasn't, likelihood of various infections etc. She explained that DFK and receiving oral posed essentially no risk (except for visible outbreaks of herpes), even without a hat.

But DATY has some risk as we saw from the original poster in this thread. CFS is generally safe but the hat can fail and that's where issues arise. And obviously bbfs is a big risk.

So given all that, I'm going with bbbj and DFK only. For me, that can still be a great experience and I can be confident I won't be giving my wife any infections.
