Long time lurker, but I recently posted my first review and thought Id say hello as well. Im relatively newer to the amp scene but not to the hobby. I visited some amps for the first time last summer (GFE Allstate and Asian Desires) and have had two recent visits to NYAW.

Although there are times i have an itch that only an amp can scratch, more often than not, I find myself sticking to my regular, non-amp indys and agencies. with that being said, i’ll probably work my way through the rest of the NYAW roster and plan on seeing Flora as well.

i imagine this is a topic that may have been discussed on these forums, but i’d be curious to know peoples reasons for preferring AMPs vs indys/agencies. for me, there are several factors - not having to cross a river to nyc being one of them.

My preference in amps is almost always the ladies and service. I don't have this experience with agencies. Flora is sure thing...run don't walk. PE, NYAW, AL, GGR all have their share of good providers.

I like the packaged experience you get in a spa. Too much of indies for me is hot and miss the first time you see them.

Particularly for me in this covid era, I shy away from indies because I've never felt comfortable about the overall hygiene. I think a spa is a safer play, even though more guys go through a spa.

I'll return to trying them again after, but my overall ratio is probably going back to 1 indie to 12 spa visits. I like to keep 3-4 regular girls in my mix and go out 2-3 times a week on average. Indies for me are for when I get a craving for something unique. Or back when I traveled a lot.

and am less willing to take a risk with the unknown.

in my experience, girls at amps generally see more clients than indys. of course this is just an assumption and i could be incorrect, but by this logic, wouldn’t amps be more of a covid risk?

Having never visited an agency I’m strictly an AMP guy, I do find it true that the more you visit the same provider the sessions get better and better for a while. But my personal experience also has a down side, after a few months of seeing a provider regularly (3-4 times a week) I notice a decline in the quality of service. Has anyone else experienced this?

I think in general you are right that most spa girls see more guys than a typical indy. But it isnt always true. There's one girl in my rotation who will not see anyone she didnt already know and feel comfortable with before covid. she only sees 1-2 customers a day. so she's a definite exception.
I'm not 100% confident i'm right, but i feel better in spas, because there are alot of additional protocols and rules in place where i go. things that i dont see at an indy.

I mean things like -
1. temperature checks
2. masks in use most of the time.
3. lots of disinfectant everywhere.
4. showers (one of the spas i go to require all customers to take showers at the spa.
5. no more table linens

Anyway, I started thinking like you then flipped in june first indy I went to once i saw she was in a hotel with exact same rules as before.

I havent seen the definitive study though yet.

I havent had a girl i would think of as a steady indy provider in 5-8 years now. so maybe thats part of the difference. At this point, I'm holding on to all the girls i have established relationships with and it takes a real hot provider to get me to switch girls. Maybe thats the more important part, not whether she is spa or indy.
