I propose "No Risk It, No Biscuit" (NRNB) instead of TOFTT

I think some of us have been looking for the right phrase to describe seeing a provider without a review.

People here say TOFTT is only appropriate if the provider was bad. I kind of disagree with that but also I get it. The classic TOFTT is when you knowingly hang with the ugly girl so your friends can hang with her cute friends.

Our situation is different because we have no idea what the provider will actually look like. So often, we try to wait for a review. But what if no review is forthcoming?

I propose this phrase for going in without a review:
"No Risk It, No Biscuit". NRNB

From Bruce Arians' high-risk offensive style in the NFL. He was always taking risky shots at a big score, risking disaster in order to do so.

The reviewer can add a suffix for Win or Loss.
NRNB - W or NRNB - L

Why is there a need to mention it at all?
I think being the person to risk wasting your time (and probably money because its often hard to just leave even if disappointed), adds value to the community. And the good work should be recognized.

Anyway, let's see if this gets any traction.

So, I like the NRNB phrase, and agree that it is a more accurate description of what trying out an unreviewed provider is like.

BUT TOFTT is pretty well established here, and if you just encourage folks to add the W/L suffixes, gets you almost all the signal that NRNB would.

Can you point us to examples of the “chorus of people” criticizing the TOFTT term? I agree w/ Thurber that it’s a well established term, and we already have the recommendation qualifier.

Does it mean "whisker biscuit"?
In the 80s, yeah, the girls had whiskers on their biscuits.

Below is the most vivid recent example. Lots of frequent reviewers and commenters had something to say about it.

If you're saying we alreadly (almost) all agree "TOFTT" just means a guy saw a girl with no reviews, and its correct to use whether the girl was a Win or a Loss, I'm fine with using TOFTT In that way. And then we don't need "NRNB".

Makes sense historically, since TOFTT use to mean going home with the ugly girl so the rest of the team score the prettier ones. Since most of us don't go to spa in groups, we should only use it when it's a discovery mission. Guys that bitch about the term being misused when it turns out to be a successful session need to change their definition.
