I know this has got to Piss off the mail man lol but if I had to take a guess I would say this has something to do with the number 4? Correct me if I’m wrong.

It's the number 4 alone that freak Asians out. Not 24 or 34 or 84. The number 4. Alone.

In Chinese culture, the number 4 in Chinese sounds like “shi” or “si”. There is another word for that sounds like which is death or die, because both 4 and death has similar sound but different tone or pronunciation. So when people say it, someone can’t tell whether you are saying 4 or death.
