If there was a big Covid 19 outbreak in nyc, would you still monger?

Short of a city-wide lock-down and a closure of Wall St, I don't see most people taking a break whether they are married or not.

The married monger will still have an itch to scratch. If he is a regular client of the $300 indie, he will likely patronize her because she is not new and she will have a lower perceived risk in his mind. She is no different to her patron's than all the guys that glance at a glowing "Open" sign and check to see if it is a Spa that will offer a .4/.4 session.

The people who will be taking a break are the ones that are stocking up on water and MREs feeling that we are about to enter the apocalypse. The supermarket is a higher risk environment than a Spa or a $300 indie. Some on this board are taking a break, but the average monger is living his secret life without reading our posts.
Many mongers are scaling back especially married ones.

Cross posting from the general thread:

Second COVID-19 case in NY. Again, NOT from China, but from Israel this time.

The gentleman and his family are self quarantined in Westchester County. NYC, which has other counties, is disinfecting all the trains.

Where did it say he got it from Israel? The reports say he didn't travel and this is a community case. Hmm I wonder where this Jewish lawyer working in Midtown got it from?

From Israel. You can get Community Transmission from any place where the primary source is not traceable to China. Community Transmission just means the virus is now circulating from secondary and further transfers. Like Seattle, Israel suspects the virus has been active in their region for at least 6 weeks.

Not as fatal? It's 20X more fatal. Fatality rate is 2% for Cononavirus, but 0.1% for Seasonal Flu.
Fatality is difficult to establish with limited testing. Latest data as of March 4th bring that estimate to 3.5% apply that to 10% of the US polulation and you get hundreds of thousands of fatalities. That's why public health experts are worried.

The math was just a simple multiplication based on the 2% for this virus and 0.1% lethality of the flu. With that 3.4%, it's now 34X more lethal.
