I'll give it to the Mayor. He promised to shut down Roosevelt Avenue and he's almost complete (an ongoing update)

So, as we all do, I get the urge yet again and I decided to see what the scene is like on Roosie a few nights ago.

Faced with mounting pressure from his own personal investigations and growing discontent with the state of Manhattan, he seems to have really put his shoulder into this 'shutting down the brothels in Queens' thing.

From my count, of the dozen and a half obvious spots from 103rd to 62nd street, he's shut down or seriously hampered all but for our five of them. Junction Blvd. is still active, there are few still there on 88th street, 83rd street is still a thing and that sad old lady in the window by 69th street.

Aside from that, every other establishment (even the new Latinas) is either shuttered or they don't advertise on the street anymore. Also, between amateur bloggers, squad cars sitting right outside the places and undercover officers harassing customers when they exit, he's generally made Roosevelt a nerve-wracking, very undesireable, unpleasant place to monger. The cost/benefit just doesn't work anymore as there are no elite providers in that area but now there are so many more eyeballs and so much more legal jeopardy to be had.

I still call it low-hanging fruit because we're not the ones pushing people onto subway tracks or shooting 10 year olds in public parks. But coming after us was easier and gave him a layup to show the press.

My recommendation continues to be to avoid the area and find more discreet outlets for your passions, gentlemen. Be safe and may you not star in a hidden camera TikTok video anytime soon.

Ironically, the New Mayors of Medellín (Colombia) and Cartagena aspire to create the new NYC in South America. So they also have also been cracking down hard on the world's oldest profession. Is it a coincidence this started to happen after Eric Adams visited regarding the illegal immigration issue?

I'm sure they exchanged notes. They are using NYC clean up tactics down there and Mr. Adams has had pinpoint laser accuracy on the Venezuelans here.

They may even have monthly zoom calls for all we know.

Lastly, who knew that
"La Roosie Mexicana Mommies for Safe Streetz" could be such a powerful political lobby?

It seems Mexicans are tired of Venezuelans at a global scale. They look down upon them as they've been here longer and have setup support systems and infrastructure for other Mexicans.

La Roosie Mexicana Mommies for Safe Streetz is an extension of an Anti-Migrant/Anti-Venezolana lobbyist group in Mexico.

I'm not sure who is going to be the next mayor, but it surely won't be Adams. If we get another D'Blasio type, the current situation may change. Honestly, I was away for like 6 years from NYC and only recently returned, and I wil say that finding Roosevelt turned into a whole bangkok if you will was cool, but I knew it wasn't going to last forever. It doesn't matter who or what group is after them, you can't make something like this hot by advertising in the street the way they were. The whole scene could've had a longer run if they had at least stuck to some common sense things like keeping the work to late nights and having maybe one girl standing at the doorway, not 3 or 4 in front or sitting on the sidewalk. All that was just them burning themselves.

As I mentioned in other posts, I remember Roosevelt back in like '95, anyone who was around in that time will recall when they parked a whole mobile precint in front of 88th street, there were like 4 spots in that "Plaza" but as I've said, you never saw a girl. It was always a dude out there handing out the little cards and walking you to the door. Some places as mentioned had radio contact between people inside and the guy outside and they would not let you walk out the door when cops were walking or rolling by. That's how it was and that's how it should be to avoid the BS, and in those times, the quality of girls was MUCH better. Mostly dominican or colombian girls with the rare salvadorean, ecuadorian or Chile/Argentinian mixed in. This new wave of Chinese/Venezuelan girls are not too smart about conducting business. They better learn and keep their greed in check, because so far, and we're talking at least 2 waves of raids later, they are still not getting it.

Clean cut cops in khakis and black polos with the white shirt top brass cops there . Cameras everywhere for the publicity. Fucking makes me sick bro. The fucking city is overrun by criminals and they cracking down on people trying to make an honest living. Can't wait to vote this fucking sell out Mayor Adams out

They also arrested an e-bike shop owner for selling batteries you can easily buy on amazon for your e-bike. The media people and politicians actually want to bring up storefront ownership when it was clearly determined n Good Humor Corp. v. City of New York (290 N.Y. 312), that the city did not have constitutional power to protect brick-and-mortar storekeepers from the competition of street vendors. And that in my opinion is the right way to think about it, because it shouldn't be the government's function to protect a private business from competition. That's the type of work the mob does. And that said, we all know the red tape the city puts out when it comes to permits and the rackets of their auctions to bring themselves in mega dollars for hot dog vending spots where the vendors sell $20 hot dogs to tourists. It's all low hanging fruit for Adam's political show. He is savoring this migrant situation that literally fell on his lap, because it's about the only thing he has that keeps people somewhat distracted from the disaster him and his administration really are.

Big cities like New York basically become shitholes when the economy goes to shit because it becomes too expensive to live and the immigrants swarm the city and dont know anything about laws or permits to sell things so the police make revenue taking their stuff and giving out fines, its a complete shitshow.

These dicks knew what the plan was. The media and top brass was out there clean cut and polished. Fucking dumb white chick NYPD girl writing tickets like she just graduated from college trying to look like they cared about the vendors. Tall black captain in pressed white shirt with shiny bald head. DA w badge in belt buckle like he on Law and Order- fuckingnice looking cops walking in khakis and black /white NYPD polos.

Sad to say, but these "criminal geniuses" brought this upon themselves.

This AIN'T South America and it ain't Bangkok.

Ain't no RESIDENTIAL area gonna tolerate that kinda nonsense for long (and that goes for the street vendors too).

Maybe these recent arrivals think they can act and do like they did back in the home country.

Well, they got, and are getting, their LESSON.

As for the SWs, it's not rocket science.

If they all operated like "ChicaCribin90s" remembered them operating back in the day, they'd probably still be in business (SMH...).

Let me give you a BLATANT example - one of the longest running AMPs in Manhattan's Chinatown is just steps away from the local POLICE precinct.

How's that for keeping it "on the down low?" ;)

Roosevelt ave, has been the street to go to for this type of activity for a decade, its the new wave of immigrants that changed it but now it will go back to what it was before, hidden but still known.

Even the immigrants here don't like the migrants lol
Entitled immigrants in my opinion..........guess they forgot their beginnings. I was born in the BX, and I don't care what anyone has to say about immigrants or migrants........this city has seen wave after wave of migrants for over a century, from Irish and Italians en masse to Dominicans and Mexicans, to what we are seeing now, lots of Venezuelans and people from African countries. These established immigrants if you will need to stop hating on other people. I'm all for enforcement of the law and I've never voted for a democrat in my life, but I'm realistic with regards to an immigrant workforce, because trust me, and as an example, if you have ever in your life worked as a bike messenger like I did quite a while back, you know damn well that there are very few people willing to ride those bikes in the winter, heat or rain making delivieries of any sort in Manhattan traffic. The career section 8 people who have smooched off the city since their mom's case number back in the 70's will cry that these people are taking their jobs, etc...........I just laugh.

A buddy of mine lives in that area and he's from Argentina. He says that he can't stand these new punks. Half of them are in gangs and he understands being a little desperate but they just walk into stores, steal shit and then have the nerve to sell the shit that they just stole right on the street. All they do is take the power tools or the clothes out of the packaging and lay them on a blanket. It's wild.
