I don't think most Americans have any preconceived notions of one asian group over another. We all kind of lump them into the same group until personal experience teaches us differently.

Japanese history of WW2 is vastly different from what Americans are taught. No mention of the atrocities Committed by the Japanese military. But then again , is American history accurately being taught in the US?
