I’ve personally never provided an ID during screening, and never would, especially when providers don’t offer the same level of personal disclosure at the screening stage.
But the question was about how ID screening could factor into the likelihood of a provider being murdered in the line of duty.
I also think that more generally, any sense of safety associated with screening is really an illusion - as circumventing the requirements of screening is doable by anyone who has the cleverness and motivation.
However, even when confronted with artificial barriers, I believe most humans are too lazy or unimaginative to effectively work the system that they find themselves an agent in.
