My WeChat was set up a few yrs ago and i let it go inactive. while talking to Sky an asking if she used Kaiko, she said no, WeChat. Afterwards I went in to put her info in & got the same. They required someone a member for 6 mo's to verify you. Next time I was at HH, I asked Sky for her help, which she gladly did while she passed me off to COCO. Finished the session and my phone was all setup. This is a second phone & fills the burner role without any data/contacts/email/bank, etc connected to it so had no fear of my info being compromised.
There is some crossover. For example when I use my scanning app to send a document, some of the girls in Line, and FB messenger pop-up as possible addresses to send the document. So, if people send work items/info, or have a Significant Other, I’d use a burner.

Here's how an App is NOT protection. LEO busts Hubei House of Relaxation. LEO goes through their phone, finds your handle on whatever app you used. LEO subpoenas AppCo for the info associated with your account handle. AppCo says sure, we like doing business in the USA, and hands over IP address of your phone, or your disposable email with them, or if you used your real telephone number, your real telephone number.
If you're smart, you used one of those overseas email services, but how many guys use a disposable gmail from Google? LEO contacts Google, Google gives up the IP address from which you check your gmail. LEO knocks on the front door and says "Hello, Mr. Kraft."
There are ways around this, but you'd better know exactly what you are doing.

I honestly don’t think it’s that intricate.. maybe if this was like some human trafficking ring, or worse child trafficking ring I can see the feds going through all those resources like subpoena the texting app company, skip tracing emails etc.. but for a “rub and tug” it’s a bust.. some arrest a temporary shut down of facilities and I’m released within 24 hours.. charged with patronizing most likely and I’m right back in the game within a day or 2.. not that I’m making light of it.. but we aren’t necessarily the most evil of people in the world lol our hobby just hasn’t been regulated and taxed YET, that’s why you run into legal problems.. further more I never use a real name, real email or anything actually associated with me when signing up for dummy phone numbers with throwaway apps.. just common sense and lastly you made mention of feds taking down terrorist, gangs and drug dealers.. our hobby isn’t even on the same radar as a terrorist lol you can breathe a little just sayin man..
I agree with you for the most part. Generally, they're not interested. Philadelphia and PA are totally uninterested. The Feds are sometimes, but with the religious zealots leaving, they'll be less interested. All it takes is some politician who wants to make a thing out of it at election time, usually right-wing religious guys though sometimes it's feminists. To them, it's all trafficking. They can't understand why a Chinese woman would prefer polishing knobs for $50-100/hour to canning fish for $5/hour. Pre-covid, a woman could get a 10 year tourist visa, spend 3 months/year here, go home with almost a years wages and no on back home knowing what she did.
