if they speak Fluent Mandarin then that tells several things: they are likely ethnic Korean born and raised in Northeastern China bordering North Korea. They are bilingual. They are likely from poor and peasant family and can bear hardship and willing working for money even the job is downright humiliating and dangerous, making love to guys twice their age, fat, smelly and ugly.

Good observation. CA Jenny IIRC is from northern side too, she mentioned attending university in China for about two years where she learned Mandarin.

Laura LSC and I spoke a little Mandarin. My level of Mandarin is ABC bad, but we were able to make a connection. This makes me think that maybe her Mandarin is better than her English, not sure as we also needed to use the translator for some parts. I asked Ciara LSC, but she said she didn't speak Mandarin. I feel like just a little more connection could be made if you can get more words across...
