CBS News Melrose Diner to be Demolished

Those of you who have visited the shop near Snyder and Passyunk have probably either driven past or parked at the Melrose Diner. Apparently they are planning to demolish the existing building in order to build a 5 story apartment building. I personally enjoy parking at the closed diner for like $2 when visiting the girls at 1613. Hopefully there is a good amount of time before the ball gets rolling on these plans.

it is great for parking but there is plenty of free parking on the side streets also.
Plenty of free parking out there, but sometimes it's just easier to spend a couple bucks for a sure thing.. I'm sure most mongers agree with this mentality.. Driving here from NJ is easy enough, but if there's a line of traffic at the bridge tolls, I run the risk of being late. I usually visit later in the day and most people have their cars parked in front of their homes by 7pm. So I just park in the very vacant row of spots on Passyunk Ave. Most parking zones in Philadelphia are free after 10pm so I haven't had to pay my last few visits.
