I have mentioned before a provider from the west coast,that visits New Jersey from time to time.
When she was here about a month ago,our schedule did not align,nobody's fault.
She,thru email,has kept communication lines open.
But 2 weeks ago,she was supposed to come to Jersey and canceled saying she was IL.
Said would be here following week,but then had 2 family emergency and said,now next week.
Let me say,I am not,in any way accusing her of lying.
But a thought occurred to me.
It has been my experience, over the years,that if you get plane tickets,less than 7 days in advance,they are much more expensive.
So I wondered,if she was going to pay more expensive
Fare,by waiting til last minute.
If not,was she leaving herself open to change fees,which can be Hefty.
If neither of those 2 are the case,I may have to rethink my initial opinions.

Only reason it occurred to me, was my daughter asked me to lok up plane ates and I noticed the difference in fares under vs over 7 days

It is hard to believe what these girls say . With the money she makes the cost difference in airfare is chump change.

Yeah been in similar shoes. It can be hard to move on but time helps and other focus in life

not really, i can go onto google flights and find flights to vegas leaving tomr that are not surcharged for last minute booking.
they get you for the ticket changes and cancellations.

Guess it depends on where from and to
As an example I looked at a flight 2 days out vs 9 days out
And 9 days was 40 percent less
