I dunno if that will allow massage to open up, but im wondering what you all think?

My thoughts are that the small rooms allow a bit of virus buildup from breathing and talking, and are a risk. I think the face down part of massage is a potential exposure, as well as the personal contact should there be anything on hands. Im dying for some bodywork, but think im possibly going to wait until a vaccine or improved treatments. I feel like there is a lack of ability to confirm hygiene of providers, as well as the sheets/towels/tables. I think the number of clients might be enough to make the service too risky for my level of comfort.

Are there any preventative measures that might make you more comfortable with the risks? Masks on both parties? provider soapy down full body between clients, like in a stand up shower? higher air flow out of the rooms? showing the new client that sheets and face cradles were changed in front of them ? testing for the providers, and somehow letting the client see confirmation of a negative?

What do you think?

Everyone on "both sides of the service" will make their own decisions about personal comfort level and what precautions they will take. One comment to address a concern that robertnweaver brought up about direct contact: First, there have been reposrts that direct contact exposure is not as prevalent as originally thought, and that washing with soap and hot water within a reasonable time after contact should (in most cases- nothing is ever 100%) be sufficient. If you are concerned about this, you could ask your provider for a shower both before and after your session. Believe me, they are just as concerned about getting sick as you are, maybe moreso.

Of course, you should keep in mind that cleanliness has long been a major concern. We all have shops that we choose to avoid bacuase of our own opinions about the shop'd attention to this particular detail. I can't imagine any of us who have been around the block would go to a shop we don't already trust.

Masks on both masseuse and massagee is good enough for health care workers for the majority of encounters with current recommendations. Outside of higher risk invasive procedures.

Go to places with a shower...sanitizer on hands on the way & out...if places were clean before, they will stay clean. Masks are probably a standard for awhile.

If you don't feel safe, don't go. I'm at the point where if sanitation and precautions are taken, I'm good with the acceptable risk. HIV/AIDS didn't stop sex, H1N1 come and went with 70 million people getting it...Time to open up and LIVE AGAIN

The Dem governors will drag this out as long as possible. Does anyone else see anything a little suspicious in the timing of this. The Dems have tried and failed to get to Trump since he announced his candidacy. All of a sudden we have this boogeyman with the potential to destroy the economy in a presidential election year and we all have to cower in fear until the second wave hits and the third and the fourth and the fifth until November when it magically goes away. What will reopen the state is when enough business owners give Wolf the finger and start opening up. I see traffic getting heavier every day, even before we went yellow. That tells me that there are plenty of people who have had enough of the BS.

The riots and protests are magically ALLOWED to happen in Dem areas without worry about Covid. 2 weeks ago they’re telling us “MUST PRACTICE SOCIAL DISTANCING “ as a form of mind control pre-election as if Covid is trumps fault.

Big funeral for Floyd and even Biden attended. Families around here still can’t attend funerals of family that died of Covid, or even go with them to visit in hospital! See the irony in that?

Why do Black Lives Matter ONLY if whites killed them? What happened to the thousands of Black on Black shootings/ murders each day? Did those not matter? For years?

Sounds like you're on to something.
Poitical shit does not belong on this thread.
Wayne, with all due respect, I think this whole COVID thing has been political since day 1. I'm not saying that the virus isn't real but I can see back room meetings where people were planning to use it for their own gain.
