Any recommendation for parking at New Star? I usually use the paid lot right down the street but the extra 18 dollars could be better spent imo lol
Its easy and i feel a little better leaving my car there for the hour but and other places would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance

That's what i was thinking and definetly a lot better than 18 but not a fan of another app just for parking the few times i go to new star. Was hoping for info on free parking or other suggestions. Much appreciated though thank you!

When I go downtown, I always make sure to have a few rolls of quarters in the car. You can do e-payments but if you need to "leave no trace" quarters are the way to go.

As Kant said it's $2.50 an hour. Street parking within a few blocks in the city is usually easy enough to find if you don't mind walking a little bit. Always nice to save money, this hobby is expensive, and it adds up over time.

One piece of advice. If you use meters, make sure you put a little extra time in (i.e. I wouldn't do 1 hr exactly because if shit is delayed or runs over, they will ticket you. And they are vicious. One time I got a ticket on my car and I got back to my spot 4 min after time ran out!).

Last piece of advice. Philly uses a "zone system" for parking and the kiosks are fairly easy to find, however, and this is CRITICAL... sometimes on the same street, each side of the street may be in a diff zone. So if you park street parking, don't cross the street to feed the meter. Try to get a meter on your side of the street. Alternatively, make sure you see the sign with the zone # for the side you are on, take a pic with your phone, go to any kiosk and select "Parked in another zone" and you can enter the zone number.

This is critical, because if you just feed any random meter and it happens to not be the zone you are in, you will get a ticket.

The app is just so convenient. But if u must park close to a kiosk use a credit card and just add time. There is always parking on Race Street. If not then right near it. I would myself print the receipt put it on the dashboard.

The parking app doesn't take up too much storage space. I have it and i've only been to Philly three times. You can delete it and add it back if need be.

Parking further away from Chinatown than near it makes for more parking spots.

Is this on race st? I park on 9th and callowhill and walk from there. It takes me 15 minutes and yes I am a fast walker. Great for exercise. I wouldn't do meters, look at what the expenses you're paying.

No thanks to the meters.

10th and Filbert is $13 for a couple of hours although it may have increased to $15, not sure. Still better than most which are $28 and up. Enter from 10th before you hit the 7-11 on the corner
