For those who have been to Pattaya, I'm looking for hotel recommendations. I heard the ones close to the "fun" areas are kinda run down. I'm looking for something nicer even if it's not as convenient.

I stayed at See Me Spring on Soi 10 in early 2019 before covid hit. Its not super close to walking street, but close enough. IIRC, It's a 10-15 minute walk along beach road. The problem is its hot as shit so you might be all sweaty by the time you get there. However there are interesting things to check out on pretty much every soi along the beach road area so you don't necessarily need to be right next to walking street. Also, there's always the baht buses which you can hop on and hop off of for like 50cents or whatever they're charging now which runs the length of beach road.

See Me Spring was perfectly fine imo. Not super fancy but definitely not run down. I had no problem inviting guests to my room.
I suggest checking Agoda or other some of the more Thailand/Asia focused forums for more info. Good luck!

Areca lodge is in the middle of everything… hotel amber and adelphi is on a quieter street but still close to everything.. all three are a block away from lk metro/bukhao which has tons of gogos/gc/beerbars and a short baht bus ride to WS/soi 6… Really depends where u wana be close to and how much u wana spend.. I would avoid staying in WS cuz the music will be blasting till late night/early mornings…

My friend wants to stay at the Wave Hotel. He read on ISG that's where lots of mongers stay. More expensive than Seven Zea tho
Wave is a good central location, your right in the middle of Soi 6 and Walking St, a 15 minute/ 1 mile walk to either. Another plus right on beach road and easy access to beach and baht bus.
