Jim, you seem to have some kind of dilemma every time you go to EPM. I have to laugh because it's always a new story. That's why I really like to read your reviews. Reminds me of some of the Gilda Radner news skits on Saturday Night Live back in the '70's. "Jane, if it's not one thing it's another."
It seems like maybe 30% of the time to me lol. But I agree it's a lot.
I think some of these issues are because I try to jam everything in very short windows. That causes me to rush, and when I rush, I'm more likely to make a mistake.
I must have slipped the funds into my pocket on accident during the initial assault, to avoid trying to put it down in the middle of a greeting making it awkward. Then she pulled my jacket away before I forgot to remove it and put it down.
I also had a somewhat weird encounter with a parking meter guy. It's always the parking. I didn't put it in the review since it was irrelevant.
But, long story short, essentially I found a spot near where I eat lunch that is free for 2 hours. But I got there an hour before my session time, so if I didn't move my car, if I had been "flagged" somehow, I'd end up being 15 over after my session and thus potentially get a ticket.
So after lunch I was debating on moving my car but it was a good spot and free. I see a meter enforcement guy checking cars, so I go up and ask if I can ask a question. He says yes.
Dude has googly eyes and seems to have a screw loose. I say hey, what time do you have my car down for? He's like what? I said I wanna know the time you recorded so I am sure to be back under 2 hours.
He's like oh you are only allowed to be here 1 hour. No bud, sign says 2. I point it out he says ok. So I say, since there is no ticket here, how do you know how long I am here?
He pulls out his phone and says show me your car. I show him. He enters the plate, pulls up some screen and says "Here, look at this. You've been here 23 seconds".
I'm like WTF but ok whatever. I was actually parked for like 45 min at this point but I said nothing. Essentially I knew for sure I had 1 hour 59 minutes and 37 seconds until I could be ticketed. Which was actually a blessing, since I didn't have to move my car, even had time to grab a Matcha after the session to refresh before I left the city.
Alls well that ends well!
