These days Cantonese is not the best use of your time. Everyone speaks Mandarin now, some also speak Cantonese, but the people who don't speak Mandarin are old folks now.

I agree. I know probably .01% of korean and even that wasnt enough for my ex to understand and shes fluent in korean and english. I can only imagine mandarin which imho more difficult to learn.

Cantonese is good too. One of my ATF speaks canto. But mostly these girls speak mandarin.
