The media is about selling ad space and as you say making money. They sell fear. The more fear they sell, the more money they make. Keep us all scared so we are glued to the news and their ratings go up. This is a god send to them. I’m not saying it’s fake news, far from it. It’s very real. But, it’s unbalanced. Very unbalanced. The media loves this. Their biggest fear is, what are we going to talk about when the public looses interest. The election is boring. We need our lives back. This is BS.[/QUOTE]
Like I said, businesses will take advantage of the pandemic, and the main stream media is a big business. They did the same before and will do the same afterwards. Don't worry, Trump will keep the stories coming.
Some media over exaggerates, some keep it neutral, some downplay it, some straight up call it a hoax or a conspiracy. Fear is a good thing right now because a second wave may keep us all shutdown even longer, and of course cause more deaths. Too bad many around me stopped really caring about the virus with the nicer weather...

Regarding the virus both the government and the media are peddling fear. Some is warranted but they have gone too far. I don’t know which I distrust more. And yes, it’s all about money. The spin masters know the two things that sell better than anything else is fear and greed. Capitalize on those emotions and you have won.

This "CURE" is more harmful than the disease...30MM out of work, suicide, domestic abuse, drug/alcohol use, lack of medical care, obesity, stress...more deaths and people hurt this way than by covid
70 MILLION people got H1N1, and we didn't shut down the country. There was another widespread flu during Woodstock time frame. Spanish Flu.
Also, this covid is mild to most people...there is NO REASON to stay shutdown when we can isolate the vulnerable, and take adequate precautions for ther rest of us. We've flattened the curve, and we have the protocols in place to keep it FLAT or even curve downward. There are going to be more cases, but damn it, don't save some lives, and ruin and lose more lives with fear, oppression, and lockdown
