Amigo is very offensive term if you are white or black calling a non English speaking Mexican.

I'm confused. When they address me in English and they don't know me, it's usually with "My Friend". If I return the same salutation in Spanish, it becomes offensive?

I've never felt offended by it but post# 67 asked if you call a Mexican " amigo"..... if he gets offended his an overly sensitive asshole but I've seen americans who if you call them "friend" they become very ignorant but these are sensitive times where everyone can afford to get attitudes over anything.
