I stopped by on Thursday afternoon. Saw 4 women sitting in the back. None were attractive and none seemed even interested in looking up at me or trying to get me to pick them. I left.

Meanwhile, they might as well install a turnstile at Britton.
The volume on the block really is like the MTA. I never see less than 10 providers out at one time, and there are more on the surrounding blocks. I think they are very good at not being a nuisance to their neighbors and keeping the problems behind closed doors. They open up a FH or AMP and stay quiet, other than the sight of the foot traffic.

These other places try to pose as a hair salon, do hair coloring, and sell products to women while men are coming in, asking for a line up, going somewhere with the "hair stylist" for 30 min and handing her cash on the way out in front of everyone. They need to pick an identity and stay in their lane. Think about it. What C or K spot can you go to for a keratin straightening treatment and a BJ?

I think the biggest difference is that in China, they were raised communally and they try to help one another in small social circles. Their name means a lot to them. Even if someone leaves without paying, you will only see a sign that says "this man is a thief" because reputation matters in their community. They generally won't call LE because their own community would see them as weak for not handling a problem internally. That's the opposite of what you may see from Northern and Southern Indian cultures and even the LMPs that set up shop in Jackson Heights.

The people and business owners along Roosevelt Avenue are used to being offered sex, drugs, and guns - depending on what block you're on and how you look. Chinese Aunties quietly whispering "massagee" isn't that big a deal to them.
