@tigreemodela, she's not Japanese. Perhaps you chose that by accident.
Yes, she also told me she's from HK, with one Japanese parent. I say, sure, why not? Could be true. But if so I would bet that parent was a black sheep/rebel - never spoke to her in Japanese, and never took her to meet ba-chan and ji-chan. She does not appear to speak any Japanese at all. While I tend to look askance at some of these generalizations, I would say there is nothing specifically "Japanese" about her.
We're all guessing at this point. Could be many reasons. There are many people who grow up in families and identify strongly with one parent's culture, especially if you are raised in a particular culture. I could be Japanese and raised in Argentina -- of course I'll be likely more connected with Argentinians if that's where my family is and the language they speak.
I couple of comments to reinforce what has been said above. Flora seems to love postive ones (who doesn't?). I like all natural. Flora is that and doesn't need any enhancements. And, it is good to note (as the reviewer did) that Flora speaks English very well. I saw her yesterday and left very happy. It's a big plus that she is so eager to communicate; and can do so.
