Dude age doesn't matter. When I competed in the IJF seniors (17-21) I got my ass whooped by the Russian Junior Olympic champ (age 15) in 20 seconds. He wasn't supposed to compete they were just there as a promotional event. My coach didn't even say good luck or you got this. He said "just have fun with it"
It doesn't matter, but i was underdeveloped. I was a boy fighting men. Would you let your 10 year old brother fight a 20 year old?

I mean he fucked up, but he didn't blatantly say "I am going to call ICE on you." He mentioned ICE, like we would mention the cops if some kids are on your lawn out of frustration but you aren't going to really do it.
Agreed. Not sure what he said to Kim in private.
But you wouldn't expect any of those kids you threatened to call the cops on to invite you into their house for lemonade!
I was always football, basketball, baseball, tennis and golf.
Never went out for martial arts.
I did do marital arts!

You just said you had age groups? In that case this wouldn't apply. I think it would be more unfair for a 55 kg guy to fight a 81 kg guy than a (more likely) 17 year old to 21 year old. If they are close to the same weight class then I don't see a problem if a 20 year old weighs like a 10 year old that guy must be a fucking skeleton anyways or the 10 year old is a fucking line backer.
Age groups are 2 year gaps until you hit 16 in judo (for men.) Then it goes to 17-21 (IJF Seniors) or 17-35 (Seniors Open.) This is done because we understand that by 17, you can basically fight anyone else.

Are you really a black belt? Maybe you were the one that beat me!!! hahaha damn you!!

Nah but seriously if you have a black belt, much respect. That shit is hard to get. I know some schools basically give them out but my instructor was the real deal. Remember the TV show way back in the day? WMAC masters?

My instructor was on that show.

I fucking gave up basketball for a couple of years to hone my taekwondo skills. It was so much fun back then man. I had a lot of fun. I am definitely proud of that.

EDIT: No this was in NJ.
Sometimes we go to Nj to fight. There were two types of fighting, point fighting and continuous fighting .I had the same issue .i can not fight without glasses but I was #1 in my division for couple years. After I got my black belt I top, just lost the love for it but it kept me in shape.i also learnt some Korean words...I know your older than me but we fight by age range or weight class.

lol you're not understanding.

I'm not saying literally would you let your 10 year old brother fight a 20 year old.

I'm saying for the age group i was fighting in, i looked like a 10 year old fighting someone who looked like he was 20.

This wasn't point matches, it was basically judged sparring matches. Or i guess you can say continuous fighting. All with protective gear obviously. Yes i can't compete with glasses but unlike going to class normally, you obviously can't compete with glasses. So i had to take them off. I was doing ok, until the final dude. Had to be a black guy haha.

Yes i think it was the taekwondo that got me into korean culture. Then later the women haha

Looks don't mean anything. If you fought a division where your weight and age were accounted for (lets say 66 kg Seniors (17+).) If you fit the bill (lets say 18 at 65kg) then saying you were fighting men doesn't matter, you're just cheating your opponent off a win he has by saying you were fighting men as a boy.

Maybe its time for your comeback dude it would be an easy adjustment with your current physical shape!

Believe me YGL, I understood. Just trying to make a joke.
To me it makes sense to have sports divided up into divisions were there is a rough equality in each group.
In basketball when I was in middle school they divided us up into different height categories that each team had to meet- they called it Balanced basketball. So not too many really tall dudes on each team.
We made it to the County Finals!
I was pretty much an average player though.
Hey, do you know why basketball players are dangerous lovers?
Because they dribble before they shoot!
Yeah, I know not that funny, but I figured it was appropriate for YGL

This was mid-late 90s so maybe the rules have changed since then.

Either way i didn't fit in physically for whatever i competed for, because we went by age groups. So when i competed, i was 13-15. But i looked like 10, and i was fighting kids in that age group but they were already developed. Looked like they were seniors or even entry level college kids. It wasn't a fair match from a physical standpoint but obviously it was legit because of age.

Same with basketball. I played against one of the toughest HS teams back then, saint anthony's in NJ. Yes look them up. All the kids were over 6 feet tall, all black lol. And i was, at that time, still a god damn child.
