If you’re referring to what we know to be unspeakable in this forum, I would encourage everyone to be careful regardless of where you’re getting it from (sheltered or not). What you can’t control or reasonably predict is who they’ve been with especially when volume is involved. I appreciate the needle you’re trying to thread @Wayne1250. What I’m saying is that just because a girl is from the hood doesn’t mean she’s wretched, drug addicted or desperate. Maybe she’s sexual and likes the opportunity and flexibility the place offers. Also, we can debate all day around the dynamics and deceit that lead some Asian women into the profession. Some aren’t there completely on their free will. It’s a means to an end.

The Man Cave offers something not often found in non-AMPs... Security, variety, and I hope reliability. Time will tell but I’m not how sure they can sustain it because they don’t have the infrastructure like the Asian community does.

Buckedi is spot on for conclusion to all your thoughts.

I recon the area and I give my honest opinion. I have worked in this area a fews back and it has become better. Its a notch above the hood. You can walk around during the day and not feel threatened. The area is filled with minority owned businesses consisting of asian, immigrated africans, jamicans, and american born blacks. These are hard working people. In the area is the police precinct.
Your safety really tumbles after 8pm when the businesses close. If you dress sharp and drive fancy car, You will stand out and likely be targeted.
Can this spa last? IMO , no. If too many mongers come in and out, the neighbors will start upraising to close the spa.

Agreed - hood references are troublesome to generalize based on a young ladies skin color. This level of commitment exhibited by these girls shows me determination, patience and guts.

Just be careful and use your big head. An operation like this is going to attract a lot of attention. A parade of white guys coming and going are going to send up a signal flag. Well respected home owned neighbors will eventually let LE know there is a problem. Philly has strong neighborhood groups that watch what is going on, and have communication set up to keep everyone in the neighborhood informed. They will no more tolerate a prostitution house any more than a crack house. It may just be a short time that this place gets busted, I hope none of you are there at that time. Your excuse that you are just getting a massage may be a little more difficult to believe.

I have lived in a neighborhood in the city for almost 40 years and our neighborhood association worked hard to get a crack house shut down. It will only be time, just be careful.

You just described other, well reviewed, and highly regarded operations and no one is sounding the alarm about a parade of white guys! Would a parade of black guys go unnoticed? This is rhetoric.

Bravo for shutting down the crack house. What tipped off the neighborhood association that a crack house was in operation in your neighborhood for 40 years?

I don't want to come off as inflammatory, just don't think it's fair to warn customers away from a business enterprise based on ethnicity of the patrons or the providers.

I guess just your opinion, have fun and "be safe".

It did not take that long, selling drugs on the corner, constant car brake ins and guys rushing out to give a handshake to a double parked cars.

My post is just a warning, color of the neighborhood just makes it more obvious.

If/when the spa is forced out, they will find another location. I am pretty sure they keep client contact info somewhere. They will contact the client of new location.
Its a lucrative business model for the owners and the gals.

A parade of Black guys would be less likely to be noticed. A White guy in an all Black neighborhood stands out and people are more likely to notice where he is going and remember. No different from Tina Early Riser in S Philly. Does not want non-Caucasians to avoid neighbors "noticing."

all this talk about uncle LE, keep in mind the 12th District precinct is literally 2 blocks up the street. This is a predominantly african/Jamaican neighborhood, but you can’t compare this to Marconi Plaza or the stadium district. I just think it’s ingrained in the culture of the old Italians down there they see something that looks “out of the ordinary“ to contact the “block captain” and raise some more eye brows.. 64th and woodland just isn’t this type of neighborhood. So you can be white, Asian, Spanish what ever and walk down woodland Ave and no one will give you funny looks. And if you really want a history lesson 30 years ago that section of southwest Philly was predominantly working class white people until , industry and factories closed down and left many people without an income. All this to say.. white, black, yellow or brown.. you’ll be fine. This establishment isn’t running its business out of lower Merion or Paoli… Philly is truly a melting pot seeing someone of different race or ethnicity isn’t as strange in the city as it is in the suburbs or county..

Don't need any history lessons. Have lived in SW Philly 50 years and have worked two blocks from Marconi Park for 30 years.

@Wayne1250, your in spa and out of spa concerns are duly noted. If I was going to visit this establishment, my answer to anyone requesting it would be I absolutely believe in Black Lives Matter and what better way to demonstrate it than to visit a black establishment. The best method of ending prejudice is to rub it out of each one of us. I really wish there were more establishments like this. Get some sole food restaurants cropping up in this area and we would have an amazing African American experience.

Agree, and that being said; I like the history lessons.

Horny’s post should be required reading. We’ll done sir. Also, “history lessons” provide context to the information being provided. If you don’t know where you’re from, you don’t know where you’re going.
