Hello gentlemen,
I am returning to Philly this weekend for the 1st time in 6 years. I want to go to Osaka this Saturday morning but with the Philly crime wave just curious if it is safe and parking availability. Thank you everyone!

Watch the news, read the paper. The biggest reason Philadelphia's downtown businesses are failing is because their customers have abandoned them out of fear. Animals prowl the streets searching for their next victims. Broad daylight, dark of night - it doesn't mater. Ask yourself and be honest, do thugs look at you and think - whoa I better leave him alone and pick on someone else..., or do the street urchins look at you like easy pickin's ?

Just asking the question on a forum like this probably reveals your answer. So many options, and good ones, out in the 'burbs - why would a country mouse even think of that risk?

A fellow monger messaged me on another channel. He was acoustic by 3 youths on his way to a spa last night. They were trying to rob him, but he pulled a weapon and they ran for the hills. He walked to the police district an reported it. I never go at night but only because I like appointments early in the day. Just keep a sharp eye out on your surroundings.

That's scary shit - he's lucky they did not have weapons and out gun him. It would have been a tiny message scroll at the bottom of the tv newscast screen. Man found dead after attempted robbery, no suspects.

Philly has become the "wild west"without the better scenery. Stopped going to Philly locations since post-covid reopenings. I do miss the old days (prior to covid) going to Osaka, Bella, Fun City, Saigon, Grey and Society Hill. Great times, lovely providers including one very special lady.

I work in Center Philly Philadelphia every day (pretty close to Osaka spa). I am never there at night, but I can can say that I have never witnessed a crime in two years of working in center city. I consider the area to be safe and walk around the area freely during breaks from work and when I am mongering. Parking is a lot more difficult however as it is very expensive in center city.

Guys, when you get in a car and drive to and from Philly on any road system, you are risking bodily harm.
The city is an echo system with safe and dangerous areas. I really hate to say it but some of the better spas are in some of the suspect areas.

If you are going down at night, you can make a conscious effort to select a little lower service for a little lower risk.

I have no problem giving a great provider 2.4 for VIP service in a local spa than deal with all the headaches of time and travel for a great Philly spa experience.

My monger friend messaged me on another channel again. He was riding by a couple center city spas last night an noticed a couple guys lurking on a side street neat the spas. Just really pay attention yo your surroundings when you are walking from your spa to any of the Center City spas after dark. The police may need a little more rolling surveillance to keep an eye out downtown. I'm glad I'm a daytime monger, I got my fix yesterday.

Stay safe guys.

I lived in CC for over 10 years. Very very close to Chinatown. You have to be aware and always be looking a block or 2 ahead. I used to walk out on the streets alone at night a lot, a few times a month rather drunk. Only a couple of times did I see something ahead of me where I stopped and decided to walk back and around the block rather out of an abundance of caution. I have always thought your body language is a major determining factor if you're going to be left alone or be a victim. Yes there are exceptions but they are looking for the weak and scared.

and like mentioned there are many other ways to get taken, dont need to be in the city for it to happen.

Something I've learned from working in Center City Philadelphia and New York City - Don't make unnecessary eye contact, but don't make it look like you are avoiding eye contact; be casual and act like you're supposed to be there. You'll be fine.

da, everyplace if you act like you own the place, no one else will try to out-alpha you. There's so many marks out there that even the smallest alpha gesture will make the cityfolk move along. Head on a swivel, hands out of pockets, back straight, shoulders square, phone not in hand. All that said, I choose to not visit Philly ever for any reason, despite all the good I hear about the various AMPs, since it's just so great out this way. Although, the cityfolk are being imported here, so, maybe in due time it will be different.

I am actually surprised at all the negative stuff and fear with center city Philly. I am there all the time, and I feel fine. People around etc. Sure- there are a few homeless, panhandlers, drunks, and a few nuts. crime can happen; but it can happen anywhere. It’s good advice to walk the streets with confidence and intent. Know where you are going. Ignore anyone who approaches you and never get pulled into whatever they have going on. Should be fine.

North/south Philly- different story.

North/south Philly- different story.

Add: West Philly/Kensington/ West Oak Lane/Germantown/Brewerytown/Southwest Philly/etc.

The ONLY stories making it to the 6 o'clock news are murders. What you don't here are the hundreds of incidents per day about innocent people being beaten, smacked, robbed, sucker punched, shoved, jumped, you name it. Until something changes in this God forsaken shithole city, beware.
