Screening in NYC

what type of screening do spas in nyc do?? I’ve only been to Asian desires once and all they asked me was work ID and my regular ID(license). Is that normal for other spas. I don’t think Asian desires can give me a referral since I only went there once and it was last December. How does one go about getting referrals?? AMPs in westchester don’t ask for anything, it seems like NYC is more stringent with stuff like that.

Screening in the city is easy. Just do what they ask and you are in. Look up the spa you want to go to. Are they legit? If they are, know that they do not give a damn about keeping you personal information. They just care about protecting themselves from "undesirables" - conversely, independents, I never send them personal info or give them my social media info-that I do not ever do . . .

If you are trying to go to any of the major AMPs, text them and ask them who is on the schedule today. They'll give you a schedule and ask if you've been there before. Just tell them yes and that its been a while. They'll probably glance at your ID when you walk in, but that's it.

I tried that at Lear and they weren’t having it, they asked for references. I read a few reviews about them and wanted to try them out. Maybe I’ll try the others and get a rapport with them

They might not be taking new clients. I got screened a few weeks before covid and I haven't booked anything yet. I was still able to text for updated password to the profiles though.

Move on to others. Keep trying diff places until you get in. Don’t get fixated if a place doesn’t accept you. Plenty of other options. And just ask to schedule an appointment and they will tell you screening requirements if any.

I have presented a license (with picture) many times for screening purposes. If the establishment is straight they will not do anything with your ID. When I say straight I mean the mainstream spas that have a track record. I would not show a legit ID just to anyone.

In 2016 after they busted the Korean East coast organization that owned multiple amps and was keeping one database with customer information and preferences, I am unwilling to send personal information.

I remember and I agree . Thank God I never visited Korean Spas that asked for an ID. As a result most established midtown spa's today do not keep a database for the exact reason of what happened in 2016.

I would show my license but would not let them copy it or retain it long enough to copy the information. Most spas were willing to screen by this method. If they denied me this method I would move on.

The place in NJ wanted this so I passed. I usually don't even have ID on me. One time they wanted to check at the door so I just cover name and address with my hand and showed them a picture ID.

No way I am sending them a digital copy. I supposed I can always Photoshop one. But its too much hassle IMO for any one place. Just move on to another place

Agree. NEVER show your true identity. There are plenty of other gfe places that will let you in with a smile and a polite call.

I’ll check other places, I don’t really need to get in there, I usually don’t go to Manhattan that much anyway but since most of the reviews are from Manhattan I just figured I’ll try some. Like I said I tried Asian Desires last December and it was great. I’ll check other places, NYAW sent me the address when I asked for it so I should be able to get in there. I know. There’s plenty of places I can get in.

Asian desires checked my ID but she just saw it and that was it, she didn’t take it anywhere. I didn’t see the issue with that.
