Smuggling edibles on a plane ...

I'm going to Florida for a month and would love to be high on the beach. It's an illegal state and I have no intention of trying to buy any down there. My only option is to risk taking edibles with me.
I don't smoke week or vape so I'm asking about edibles only.

My thought is to bring a bag of candies that are individually wrapped and replace the candies with edibles , maybe 10 of them. Not sure if carry on's or check in luggage is best .

I do know that Fed law prevails so even tho legal in NY it's not legal to take on plane.
Anyone have experience in this ?

There was a dog sniffer going through security at Newark a couple of weeks ago when I was traveling to Florida. If a dog can smell edibles I wouldn't chance it.

No. We all walked through a corridor 2 by 2 with our carry ons and the dog would walk back and forth. I imagine there are dogs sniffing checked baggage but can't confirm.

I told this story to a friend who’s LE and deals with airport security. He said they’re more concerned about bombs than weed because so many people are on it. Now, if you’re a brazen asshole and decide to carry pounds of marijuana then yeah you’re asking for it. But if you carry a small amount it’s ok because it takes more effort to prosecute you which is a waste of everyone time for a low level petty crime.

I was so high I couldn’t panic and just let the process go through. The dog passed a few passengers and when it got to me he just passed by but slightly glanced back. I played it so cool that it was like that scene in Resovoir Dogs

I got back this morning from FL. Took 20 edibles with me (less made it back, hah), and had them in my CBD jar in my carry-on. Always do, never an issue. You're overthinking it.

Bring my THC pen all of the time. I pack the cartridge in my checked and the vape I place in the little basket at TSA. Never had an issue.
